We visited here few days back. Perfect place for a peaceful vacation in the lap of nature. Rahul & Sampada have done an incredible work of literally creating an "ORGANIC world" by completely changing their life style. When you visit there, the passion with which they have created everything can be felt in the entire property. The ambience, the food, the library, the rooms, the farm, the evening chit chat, the experience sharing, their team, the cattle everything makes you feel so good that time just flies away. We visited Farm of Happiness beginning of October 23. The name itself explains the environment and culture of this great place. I don’t think Rahul and Sampada are growing fruits and vegetables in the farm but truly, we could experience “Happiness” at every corner of this place. This is not an Agro tourism place that typically ends up as another resort stay experience, enjoying swimming pool, rain dance and loud music with people drinking and dancing around. Farm of Happiness is really an agro tourism place set up with purpose & mission. The official farm tour which is included in your stay package is an eye opener for everyone. Various aspect of farming were explained in detail to the entire group as a classroom session prior to starting the actual farm tour. Smita, my wife and I realized that we are buying food grains looking at the size, glow and smell without understanding, if it is really a healthy food. They shared numbers from the latest survey while explaining percentage of Indian population participating in farming in true sense, they did talk about pros & corns of traditional farming and also how food scarcity can have an impact on everyone’s life in near future… The field tour was even more interesting!! Rahul and Sampada are wonderful hosts and they treat you as their family guest rather than customers. Both of them are very caring and ensure you are short of nothing during your stay here. It is completely homely feeling while you stay at Farm of Happiness. Even while we were traveling to the Farm of Happiness, Rahul personally called us couple of time to ensure we follow the correct route and provided us an advance alert about heavy rains that we will experience in ghats just to ensure our safety. The Stay was extremely pleasant….. They have built a single storied typical “Konkani” house with 9 specious rooms, equipped with all necessary amenities. There is ample space to relax in “Mandav”, “Padavi” or in “Mazghar” of this house. It has small library having excellent collection of books to enjoy. The home is surrounded by nice green trees of Mango, Cashew and Banana. There are couple of “Machans” built in the vicinity of the house where you can seat, relax and enjoy the nature. The 3 meals included in your package are really very tasty. We enjoyed vegetarian Konkani food and desserts like “Ghatale”, “Gharge” and “Ukadiche Modak”!!! We also got an opportunity to enjoy a cultural “mahefil” with the hosts Sampada & Rahul as well as other likeminded guests at the farm of happiness. Rahul played the melodious songs on flute. Sampada sung her own beautiful poems, also read her own published stories for all of us till almost midnight. What a bliss experience for all of us….. Really enjoyed a lot!! It was our wedding anniversary while we visited the Farm of Happiness and let me tell everyone that we had an unforgettable experience of life on anniversary day. We never had such grand celebration on our anniversary in the last 28 years. It was truly a VERY pleasant surprise for me and Smita. We really thank Sampada, Rahul, team members (I purposely avoided the word staff) and also other guests for their energy, creativity, enthusiasm which provided us the feeling that we are on the top of the world, in the true sense!!! I strongly recommend everyone to visit Farm of Happiness and enjoy this wonderful experience. We certainly plan to visit again with extended family and friends soon…. After around trying after 2 times I fortunately got a booking on end of Sep'23. I must say it was a very unique exp that I and all of my family members had. Now, my kids know something about the farming. Food is exceptional and special part is most of the veggie's is home grown. Very particular about usage of plastic, I remember the movie dialogue (Singham) "Shehar ki gandangi hum gao me nahi aane denge " :) So, suggest don't take any plastic there. Rahul and Sampda mam are very polite and friendly with my kids. So, we have a relaxed time. Only the drawback is, little bit far from Pune.

This was our second stay at Farm of Happiness. We spent 3 nights/ 4 days with Sampada and Rahul, and still while leaving, we thought another couple of nights would have been worthwhile. There is so much to learn from them, from the lean lifestyle to so many other topics to talk about. There is so much of information with them... you just feel like sitting with them on their typical easy chairs and just listen to them. During our both stays at FoH we have made so many new friends whom we had not even met earlier and have learnt so many new perspectives ... that makes this place very special. Rahul and Sampada are inclined towards art and music, where our vibes match. We end up having imprompu mehfil in their living room, someone singing... playing an instrument (esp. Rahul's flute) and then Sampada's poems. About the stay, they have total six rooms, of which they stay in one room. So 5 rooms available to be let out. Their house is a typical Konkani traditional house, artistically done up. Everything there has a personal touch, and that is what makes FoH very speacial cozy place. Food is amazing... it is all local cuisine, predominantly veg (non-veg served on request). Menu is carefully curated and they try their best to ensure not a single dish is repeated during your stay. Mobile network is a challenge, and that was a boon to me. Complete Detox break. Reaching this place could be a bit challenging .... but as they say 'beautiful roads do not always lead to beautiful places. Heaven may be hidden at the end of an ugly road.' So true it is. Finally. A Big Hug and a Thank yoy to Rahul and Sampada for making our stay so memorable. We look forward to another visit soon, with new set of 'Like Minded' people.

We visited Farm of Happiness in the month of August 2023 and stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. Some of the key aspects that made our stay memorable are : 1. Location: The farm is nestled in the midst of nature making it a good getaway from hustle and bustle of daily life. 2. Affable hosts: The Kulkarni's - Rahul & Sampada - are affable hosts and their warmth stayed as is right from the moment we arrived till out Departure. 3. Excellent staff : The staff at the farm house have taken a cue from the wonderful Kulkarnis and are warm and well behaved at all points in time. The food ( 'organic' to borrow a recent term ) is excellent and is reflective of the beauty and tranquility of Konkan. Over the top usage of oil and spices is fully avoided . This is exactly the food that keeps one happy and healthy. 5. Farm tour: The real icing on the cake was the farm tour. Rahul's knowledge on nature, evolution of food, his perspective on the future of farming and food the way we know it was truly " food for thought " To sum up - we had a great experience and would gladly come back at a future date to create more happy memories. Its quite late to post the review, as its very difficult to put the best experience in best words. Having Anniversary during Monsoon, lefts very few options to visit. So, even thought I heard about this beautiful place few years back, I was bit confused. So I called Mr. Rahul for availability and especially weather. The way he explained, I confirmed booking immediately for me, Wife and our Son. About People First: Mr. Rahul and Mrs. Sampada, the best couple. Their hospitality, their understanding, maturity to deal with people especially kids...just amazing. They not only put their thought with great clarity, but also follow and encourage it. They share and guide about nature, human being, food cycle, habitats, crops, vegetables. The best thought I like is "Grow your own food". One should definitely hear the logic and statistics behind it from them. About Food: Taste of purity can be experienced as these grains and vegetables are grown on the same farm, with great thought, heart and love by these people. They serve Variety of Kokani dishes with Taste and with Love . About Stay: Its Kokan, the property is Kokani, beautiful "Tumdar Ghar ". We stayed their 3 days and enjoyed Books, Carroms, Kokani Aram Chairs, Swing, Baajla, net swing, nature, People, monsoon, music, food, brainy discussions, Trees, Farm, Flowers and......much more many many things. Thanks a lot Rahuldada and Sampadatai for one of our greatest experience in life. We will be back soon :).

I had wanted to visit the Konkan coast for a long time, especially during the start of the South West monsoon. While searching for quiet and off-beat home-stays in the region, I came across the Farm of Happiness agro-tourism home-stay (based in Phungus, Ratnagiri) as one of the top-listed home-stays in a review published in Conde Nast Traveller, India. The review and the link to the website of Farm of Happiness convinced us (my husband and me) to finally concretise our travel plans and visit Ratnagiri. The home-stay, the hosts (Rahul and Sampada), the staff and the environment itself were all worth it. We had a wonderful and much needed relaxed four-day stay at Farm of Happiness. Committed to organic and natural living, the home-stay offers delicious Maharashtrian meals drawing on local produce, vegetables and fruits. This was the highlight of our trip since we wanted to experience authentic simple cuisine and were not interested in run of the mill tourism or meal options. The home-stay is beautifully constructed with natural materials and modern amenities making our stay very comfortable as well. We also became friends with two friendly and very well-behaved indie dogs (Vinnie and Kali) who live on the premises. Our host, Rahul, coordinated and helped us plan our visits to numerous sites around Ratnagiri. Passionate about farming and sustainable agriculture, we also learnt a lot from Rahul on what it takes to grow one’s own food and to respect our environment. We were provided with a local driver, Abhijit, who was extremely reliable and helped us get around the city comfortably. When we visited, the monsoon had not yet set in and the weather was quite humid. But we were delighted when the rains finally arrived in the last two days of our stay there. The entire home-stay and region completely comes to life with the rains. Words cannot do justice to the natural beauty of the Konkan region. If you are someone looking for a relaxed, off-beat and peaceful visit to the Konkan region without the noise and frills of regular tourism packages, then ‘Farm of Happiness’ is the place for you.
